Winmail.dat Viewer Pro Edition App Reviews
Works Great!
Works great. Solved a troubling issue.
Nice Job Guys…keep getting Windat Files for 1 Supplier…. Quick Double Click in the WINDAT and All Files and Ready to View and Save with a Nice SAVE TO Button..Double Click to View! Fast and Efficient… Mike H London Ontario Canada
In my opinion this is as clean, smooth, and simple as it gets. I work for a large Fortune 100 company and I am using Apple Mail and iCal for my corporate mail and calendar. When interfacing with customers using Exchange and Outlook it is common to run into issues with winmail.dat attachments. With this app installed, I just double click the winmail.dat file and save the embedded attachments to my Downloads folder. It’s as easy as it gets! This app is the way to go.. Also worth noting, the reason I went with this app over the others is I have one of the developers other apps and I knew the simplicity and reliability would be perfect. Sure enough, it is!
While this app does what it promises and opens the files, the previous version kept the file converted imbedded in the email making for easy access. Currently you have to save the document to your downloads to retrieve to subsequently view. Otherwise a very good app.
I have used it for 6 months. I have clients that send the WinMail.dat files. This program works fast and I have access to the files to open or move. Thank You.
Works as advertised. This is the third app of this kind I’ve tried and I’ll stick with this one. I recommend it if, like me, you regularly receive MS Outlook winmail.dat attachments. My frustration is now gone.
So many things don’t work with a MAC - THIS works GREAT!
I’m very pleased at how this works.
Does what I paid for
Works every time. Opens emails with a .DAT attachment and lets me see the attachments.
Worth Buying
After trying a variety of free tools, none of which worked, I stumbled upon this software. It's annoying to have to pay for something so seemingly mundane, but this app works very well. Would recommend.
It Actually Works!
Unlike other winmail opening apps this one actually works. I was hesitant to pay for an app to open such a specific file type but this was well worth it. I use a mac and it works flawlessly!
hopeful but did not work for me
I'm running macOS Catalina 10.15.1 on a 1-yr old MacBook Pro 15-inch 2019 system. I occasionally receive emails with a 'winmail.dat' file attachment. I purchased your app to be able to view the attachment however, it didn't show what was actually in the attachment. Is there anyway I can get reimbursed for the $2.99 I just got charged?
Cool, except…doesn’t seem to do apple calendar attachments
Functionally great, and pulled the text out of a winmail attachment just fine. However, the one thing I really needed it to do was also extract a meeting invite and let me accept it in Apple Calendar. It doesn’t seem to do that???
WinMail.Dat Viewer Pro Edition Solved the Problem!
As a Mac user, I’ve often had the unpleasant surprise that someone using a PC would send me an attachment that came through in the winmail.dat format. Until now, I’ve asked them to send me a PDF. However, with Winmail.dat Viewer Pro Edition, I can open these easily in the format the viewer sent them.
Winmai.dat is very handy
Have a MacBook Pro using Outlook and often receive emails with attachments in the dreaded winmail.dat. There sender do not know how or cannot correct the way they format their email. Now, at least, I am able to see what is in the attachment. This app has been very useful to me and I would recommend it to others.
Just fine!
This app works as advertised. It opens win mail.dat.
just ok but does work
Its OK but should be more seamless and not have to open an close program every time you use it. It should just work in the background and not always have the window open on your desk top everytime it is used.
Spam, doesnt seem appropriate for a paid app
I specifically choose paid apps so that I don’t have to deal with advertisments and spam. Every other time you use this app you are presented with spam in bright flashy colors. If you want a professional clean app stay away from this app and developer. Otherwise, app works as advertised.
Delivers!
This app delivers exactly what it promises. I gave it four stars instead of five only because I think it would have been wise to enable multiple-file extracting/saving (rather than having to save each file contained within the winmail.dat one at a time). But that's a complaint about what it *doesn't* do—what it *does* do it does really well!

Needs work
I bought this primarily because Klammer is (for some reason) very slow and has a few issues of its own. While this viewer does “work” it does not handle meeting invitiations well (the primiary items i recieve in .dat files). You can still get at them, however you have to manually copy/paste the meeting info out of the message and create a new event. Other similar apps allow you to import the event directly into your calendar
Extremely well integrated into OS X
